All three books intertwine the development of Nursing, Mentati, Navigator and Suk Doctor. Honestly, the whole time I was watching the show, I felt like it belonged on SyFy.

Unfortunately, I think this falls into the category of recent shows like Rings of Power (which I'd argue is actually better)

I've heard you have to read the book to understand this series, so maybe that's why the story just didn't feel rich or engaging (because I was distracted by everything around me, which is what happens when I lose focus). While you can tell the production value was great, it just doesn't seem to belong on MAX, especially their other big hits.
