A Montana ranching family faces off against those who encroach on their land. Forry J. Smith, who plays Lloyd, is a seasoned rodeo veteran. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) seems to "forget" his Montanan accent all the time and reverts to his usual SoCal speaking voice. Featured in WatchMojo: Top 10 Summer TV Shows Not on Your Radar (2018). I live in Darby, MT, where most of this was filmed - yesterday they filmed in a field across the street from me with some horses and cattle. I think this show is a pretty solid story, and one where Costner is at his best. Given my half-Native American side, one thing I noticed about the first season is that it leaves you wondering who the good guys and the bad guys are - maybe both sides are good and bad. I admit it's beautiful to see them filming here, the farm is just down the road from me and I pass by almost daily on my way to fish the Bitterroot River.
