Are some characters stereotypes?
This is fun pure and simple. Crisply written, with great one-liners, just enough confusion to prevent it from becoming The Big Bang Theory for middle grades, it's a joy to watch. Yes real therapists don't behave like this, but anyone with a functioning brain cell will know that criticism from that perspective is just negativity to pull down the rating.
Finally, who knew what a good lighthearted comedian Harrison Ford was?
Yes, but no offense given and nothing taken, FYI, I worked with a gay guy who was the same stereotype shown here. The real success here is mixing the seriousness of therapy and grief with the growing pains of life at different ages, stages and life paths and making it funny. Full disclosure and the show is worth watching just for him.
